People who have influenced me

Ever since I was 8 I have loved Tim Burton's work,he is the main reason I wanted to study animation in university. His dark and extremely unique style has been something that I have used to inspire a lot of my 3-D sculptures and I want to influence my installations.

Some of my favourite films by Tim Burton include, Nightmare before Christmas, The Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie.

Nathan and Josh Flynn are both exceptional sculptors who have kept me interested in everything they do since the day I found their work. The twins went to the same university as me and specialized in the same subject that I am currently working on myself. I look at their work to learn what process they use because they achieve such incredible detail in their work and leave a detailed explanation of how they do their work on their own blogs: http://nathan-flynn.blogspot.co.uk/  http://joshua-flynn.blogspot.co.uk/

Wallace and Gromit is how everyone thinks of claymation  and I'm no different, when ever I am asked to explain what I do in university I simply reply I make sculptures for animation and when people look confused I add "I do what they do in Wallace and Gromit" and they instantly understand. Nick Park has created something incredible in his unique, instantly recognisable style, I love the way he has created the eyes and mouths of his characters in shows such as Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run, and  Creature Comforts.
